Fall Car Care and Maintenance

Summer months we are all so busy taking vacations, spending time with friends and running here and there, that we forget about taking care of our vehicles. The change of season from summer to fall is a good time to get your car ready for the winter months. The Consumer Reports website has a great article about what should be done to get your vehicle winter ready.

Here is a checklist of things you need to maintain on your vehicle in the fall:

1. Car Battery – check all connections and clean if needed and make sure they fit snug
2. Headlights – check headlight covers if they are dull or hazy replace or restore them
3. Tires – check your tread, making sure you have more than 1/8 inch
4. Wash and Wax – remove dirt, bird droppings, etc and wax to keep the surface looking new
5. Wipers – if leaving streaks clean or replace them
